Compassion for You and Your Pet at the End of Life
Our veterinarians strive to make sure your pet has the best quality of life possible. Very few old or chronically ill pets die suddenly. As your dog or cat ages or becomes very sick, the bad days may become more frequent. Disease can become debilitating, and you can tell that your pet is very unhappy. It may be time to consider other options.
Rea Road's compassionate veterinarians can help you to decide if humane euthanasia may be the appropriate alternative to a slow and painful death. You can be sure that we will take the time to explain what to expect and work to ensure that the experience is as peaceful as possible. We will never rush you or start the procedure before you are ready. The choice is yours if you would like to be with your pet at the end.
Everyone at our hospital is compassionate at this time of loss. Our staff will send you keepsakes to help remember your pet, including a ceramic pawprint of your pet and a book. We can discuss the options available for cremation and will make the arrangements for you.
