Laser Therapy

At Rea Road Animal Hospital, we are proud to offer a non-invasive therapy to help manage pain and support healing in pets. This type of therapy is performed with a laser and involves no incisions.

Laser Therapy For Your Pet

Laser therapy is known for its amazing healing effects and, after just one session, many pet owners can typically see a marked improvement in their pet’s mobility right away. It works by stimulating the body at a cellular level, which prompts natural cell regeneration, improves blood circulation, and releases endorphins – all of which helps to relieve pain and advance healing.

A low-level beam of light is directed at the site of concern on the pet’s body for several minutes at a time. Often, the patient will enjoy the warming sensation laser therapy brings, and sometimes will fall asleep during the therapy session.

The most common laser therapy patients are older cats and dogs who may struggle with arthritis. There are other conditions which will benefit from laser therapy, including:

  • Wounds
  • Inflammation
  • ACL tears
  • Degenerative disc disease
  • Post-surgical pain
  • Teeth wounds

If you believe your pet is in pain and would be a good candidate for laser therapy, we encourage you to start a conversation with your veterinarian.
