Modern, Noninvasive Ultrasound Exams for Pets
Diagnostic ultrasound is a painless and non-invasive way for us to look into your pet's body. Ultrasound examinations complement X-rays, allowing us to make an image of body organs. During an ultrasound examination, sound waves are used to generate a computer image that can help us evaluate the internal structure of organs and abnormal lesions.
Several of Rea Road's veterinarians have had extra training in the use of our top-of-the-line ultrasound equipment. We enjoy using it because it is non-invasive and doesn't cause discomfort for the pets that are being examined.
Ultrasound is especially valuable for imaging in the abdomen:
- Gall bladder
- Lymph nodes
- Adrenal glands
- Urinary bladder
We use ultrasound to aid us in making a diagnosis. It is also very useful for evaluating pregnancy. Ultrasound can help us to discover the spread of cancer and avoid unnecessary surgical procedures.
This valuable diagnostic test allows our veterinarians to determine what is causing problems for your pet and make recommendations to you for the most effective treatment regimen.
